Somerset CPAs is pleased to announce that Kenneth J. Hedlund, CPA, has been named Chairman of the BDO Seidman Alliance Construction Industry Group (BDO CIG).

In late September, the Executive Committee of the BDO CIG, which is made up of representatives of 8 member firms from across the U.S., met in Chicago for their annual strategic planning meeting. During the Committee’s election process, Jimmy Rodefer of Rodefer Moss & Co. (Tennessee) nominated Ken Hedlund to the position of Chairman. The Committee unanimously agreed to the nomination.

The BDO Seidman Alliance Construction Industry Group is a nationwide team of accounting and consulting professionals from 39 independent BDO Seidman Alliance member firms in 21 states focused on serving the construction industry.

As Chairman of the Executive Committee, Ken will lead activities designed to unite the construction industry strength and experience of individuals from Alliance firms and BDO Seidman into a nationwide team of professionals, working together to attract and serve clients.

Ken is the principal in charge of Somerset’s Construction & A/E Team and works closely with clients to meet their needs in the audit and tax areas. Ken routinely consults with construction, architect and engineering clients on operational and efficiency issues. He received his B.S. degree from Purdue University in 1982. Ken is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana and serves as the State Treasurer. Ken is a member of the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and is on the Executive Board of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation. Ken is a member of the Indiana CPA Society, American Institute of CPAs, Construction Financial Management Association, American Institute of Architects and American Council of Engineering Companies.
